How to Share a Printer in Windows
Share a printer attached to one Windows PC with authorized users on a trusted network.
Follow the steps in order and stop if the screen or target does not match what is described. Use administrator access only when the task requires it.
Prepare the host PC
Confirm the printer works locally and the host PC will remain powered on and connected.
Open Printer properties
Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, select the printer, then Printer properties.
Enable sharing
On the Sharing tab select Share this printer and choose a clear share name.
Enable trusted-network sharing
Set the host network to Private and enable Network discovery and File and printer sharing.
Connect from another PC
Add a shared printer using \ComputerNamePrinterShareName.
Protect access
Use authorized user credentials and do not expose Windows file/printer sharing directly to the internet.
