Agreement and scope

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern access to Screensie's websites, accounts, desktop and mobile applications, agents, installers, remote-control features, Technician Command Center, subscription services, Quick Links, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, installing or using the Service, purchasing a subscription, or accepting a connection, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

02

What Screensie provides

Screensie provides tools that let authorized users connect to, control, inspect, troubleshoot, administer, and transfer data to or from computers. Some functions can affect accounts, processes, services, software, network settings, files, databases, or operating-system health. Screensie supplies the tool; you remain responsible for deciding whether, when, and how it is used.

Features may vary by operating system, client version, network, plan, device permissions, hardware, and staged security rollout. Mobile applications and specifically identified features may be described as planned, beta, preview, or in development and are not promised by a particular date.

03

Eligibility and organizations

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority where you live and legally able to enter this agreement. You may not use the Service if prohibited by applicable law or if Screensie has previously permanently suspended you for abuse. Organizations are responsible for their administrators, members, contractors, seat assignments, device deployments, and internal notices or policies.

04

Computer-owner authorization and consent

Use Screensie only on computers you own or are expressly authorized to access.

A PCID, password, account assignment, installer token, saved device, or Quick Link does not by itself prove legal permission.

You must obtain all consent required by law, contract, workplace policy, and the computer owner before installing Screensie, starting unattended access, viewing a screen, controlling input, transferring or deleting files, recording, monitoring, changing system configuration, accessing an account or database, or using Command Center operations. You must stop immediately when authorization ends or the computer owner asks you to stop.

You may not conceal access, suppress legally required notices, misrepresent your identity or purpose, or use the Service to bypass a person's decision not to grant access. The on-screen connection border is a safety indicator and must not be defeated or used as a substitute for required consent.

05

Accounts, credentials, and Quick Links

Provide accurate information, maintain a valid email address, and keep account credentials, recovery codes, authenticator secrets, device passwords, PCIDs, installer assignment data, and Quick Links confidential. You are responsible for activity authorized through your account and for promptly removing former users and devices. Notify Screensie through the available support channel if compromise is suspected.

A Quick Link may allow control of the linked computer. Share one only with an intended, trusted recipient; revoke or replace access when it is no longer needed. Do not publish Quick Links or static device passwords in public tickets, chat rooms, repositories, screenshots, or websites.

06

Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

You may use Screensie for legitimate personal access, authorized technical support, administration, training, and business operations. You may not use or assist anyone in using the Service to:

  • access, monitor, control, record, alter, damage, or extract data from a computer without informed authorization;
  • commit fraud, impersonation, extortion, theft, stalking, harassment, coercion, deceptive technical support, refund scams, or financial manipulation;
  • request that a connected person move money, buy gift cards or cryptocurrency, reveal financial credentials, or disable security safeguards under false pretenses;
  • deploy malware, ransomware, credential stealers, cryptominers, surveillance tools, or other harmful code;
  • evade sanctions, law enforcement, access controls, rate limits, plan limits, security testing controls, or a prior suspension;
  • probe, scan, overload, reverse engineer beyond rights granted by law, exploit, disrupt, or interfere with Screensie or another system;
  • upload, access, transfer, or distribute unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or privacy-invasive material; or
  • resell, white-label, sublicense, or commercially redistribute Screensie without written permission.
Zero tolerance for malicious remote access.

Credible malicious use may result in immediate suspension, evidence preservation, subscription cancellation, reporting to affected providers or lawful authorities, and a permanent ban of associated people, accounts, devices, payment instruments, domains, or organizations where permitted by law. Creating another account to evade a ban is prohibited.

07

Security responsibilities

Use current supported software, strong unique passwords, two-factor authentication when available, appropriately restricted user accounts, and secure networks. Keep destination devices patched and protected. Verify unexpected support requests through an independent, official contact method. Do not access banking, payment, password-manager, cryptocurrency, identity, health, or similarly sensitive information unless it is necessary, authorized, and handled in accordance with applicable law.

No security system eliminates every risk. You are responsible for your device configuration, local permissions, backups, recovery planning, actions taken during a session, and the people to whom you grant access.

08

Free use, subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

When no active subscription seat is assigned to an outbound computer, free use is limited to one hour per server day, up to 10 saved PCs, and one active connection at a time. An active assigned monthly or yearly seat removes those time, saved-PC, and simultaneous-connection limits. Paid seats license outbound computers; destination computers that only receive help do not require a paid seat. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Taxes and payment-provider terms may apply.

By purchasing, you authorize the payment provider to charge the displayed amount and frequency. Canceling stops future renewal of that individual subscription; access already paid for ordinarily continues through its displayed end date. Cancellation does not automatically refund a completed charge. Refunds, credits, or exceptions are provided only when required by law or expressly agreed by Screensie. Removing a device assignment does not itself cancel its underlying payment subscription.

Screensie may change pricing prospectively with notice required by law. A price change will not retroactively change an already completed annual purchase. Failed or reversed payments may pause paid entitlements.

09

Customer data, session content, and privacy

You retain rights in data you provide or transmit. You grant Screensie the limited rights necessary to host account records, coordinate authorized connections, process subscriptions, secure the Service, deliver requested functions, and comply with law. You represent that you have lawful authority to process any personal, confidential, regulated, or third-party data handled through the Service.

The Privacy Policy explains categories of information, purposes, disclosures, retention, security, and choices. Owner accounts may use the permanent deletion control described in the Data Deletion Instructions. Screensie is not your records-management system. Maintain independent backups before repair, deletion, uninstall, configuration, database, or file operations.

10

Software license and intellectual property

Subject to these Terms, Screensie grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the software for its intended purpose. Screensie and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, software, interfaces, branding, documentation, and improvements. Feedback may be used without restriction or compensation, but does not transfer ownership of your pre-existing material.

Do not remove legal notices, use Screensie branding to impersonate Screensie, or distribute modified installers. Open-source components remain governed by their applicable licenses.

11

Updates, availability, and third-party services

Screensie may update clients, protocols, security requirements, supported platforms, and features. Availability can be affected by maintenance, networks, firewalls, NAT behavior, operating-system restrictions, third-party providers, device state, and events outside reasonable control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, a particular frame rate, universal connectivity, or compatibility with every device.

Payment processing and links to third-party sites are governed by those providers' terms and privacy practices. Screensie is not responsible for an unrelated third party merely because the Service interoperates with or links to it.

12

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Screensie and cancel subscriptions at any time. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to protect users or systems, investigate suspected abuse, comply with law, address payment failure, enforce these Terms, or respond to risk. For serious abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, malware, or evasion, action may be immediate and without advance notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—remain effective.

13

Disclaimers, responsibility, and limits

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, OR ERROR-FREE RESULTS. Screensie does not warrant that a repair will succeed, that data will not be lost, or that every threat or unauthorized user will be detected.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Screensie and its operators, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity; or unauthorized acts by a person to whom you granted access. Where liability cannot be excluded, total aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid Screensie for the Service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US $100 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply.

You agree to defend and indemnify Screensie and its operators against third-party claims arising from your unauthorized or unlawful use, your content, your violation of another person's rights, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

14

General terms, changes, and contact

Applicable law governs these Terms without overriding consumer protections that cannot be waived. Before filing a claim, the parties should attempt in good faith to resolve it through the Screensie support channel. Nothing here limits a person's right to report concerns to a regulator or law-enforcement authority.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without written consent; Screensie may assign them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the Service. These Terms and referenced policies are the entire agreement concerning the Service unless a separate written agreement applies.

We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. Material changes will be posted with a revised date and notice where required. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
