How to Open Windows Services

View Windows background services and their status.

Follow the steps in order and stop if the screen or target does not match what is described. Use administrator access only when the task requires it.

Open Services

Press Windows + R, enter services.msc, and press Enter.

Command
services.msc

Find a service

Sort by Name or use the description to identify the exact service.

Read its state

Check Status and Startup Type before making a change.

Change only a known service

Record the original startup type first. Disabling an unfamiliar service can break Windows features.
