How to Check Free Disk Space
See how much storage remains on each Windows drive.
Follow the steps in order and stop if the screen or target does not match what is described. Use administrator access only when the task requires it.
Open File Explorer
Press Windows + E.
Open This PC
Select This PC in the navigation pane.
Review each drive
The storage bar shows used and free space. Select a drive and open Properties for exact values.
Find large categories
Open Settings > System > Storage to see which categories use the most space.
Do not delete unknown system folders
Use Storage recommendations or uninstall known applications instead of manually deleting Windows folders.
