How to Reconnect After a Wi-Fi Password Changes

Forget an old Wi-Fi profile and reconnect using the new password.

Follow the steps in order and stop if the screen or target does not match what is described. Use administrator access only when the task requires it.

Get the authorized password

Use the password supplied by the network owner. Do not try to bypass network access controls.

Open known networks

Open Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks.

Forget the old profile

Select the correct network and choose Forget.

Reconnect

Select the network from the taskbar, choose Connect, and enter the new password carefully.

Verify the network identity

Confirm the exact network name before entering credentials, especially where similarly named networks are visible.
