Settings

Windows Settings is the built-in application for configuring devices, accounts, networking and other Windows options.

Settings instructions, reference material, and troubleshooting.

How do I find the setting I need?

Search for the task or setting name, then check the guide for your Windows version. If instructions point to Control Panel instead, use that tool: some options remain there and are not identical to similarly named Settings pages.

Why might a setting be unavailable?

A setting can depend on hardware, account permissions or organization policy. Record the exact message before changing anything else. On a managed PC, ask the administrator about enforced policy rather than treating every disabled option as a fault.
