A command line is a text interface for running tools and scripts in a shell such as Command Prompt, PowerShell or Bash.

Which shell does this command need?
Use the shell named by the guide. Command Prompt, PowerShell and Bash differ in their commands, quoting and variables. Copying an example into the wrong shell can fail or produce a different result, even when the command names look similar.
What should I check before running a command?
