What should I check when a second monitor is missing?
Check power, the selected monitor input and the cable connection first. Then use the display-detection guide on the affected PC. Identify which screen is missing before changing resolution or rearranging the desktop.
Should I duplicate or extend the desktop?
Duplicate shows the same workspace on multiple screens; extend gives you additional desktop space. Choose the mode that fits the task, then test pointer movement between displays. If text is hard to read, inspect scaling separately from the screen arrangement.
