Should I use Control Panel or Settings?
Use the tool specified by the guide for your Windows version. Windows exposes some tasks in Settings and others in Control Panel. Search for the actual task, such as changing a default app or managing a device, instead of assuming both tools offer the same options.
What if the option is missing?
Check the Windows version, account permissions and whether the PC is managed by an organization. Record the visible options before following a different guide. Do not change unrelated settings simply because they appear in the same category.
