# Remote Windows service management.

To manage a remote Windows service with Screensie, open the PC’s Command Center and choose Services. Inspect the exact service and its dependencies, then confirm the required start, stop or restart action and verify its new status.

## Use SC from an elevated terminal

` sc.exe query Spoolersc.exe stop Spoolersc.exe start Spoolersc.exe \\PC-NAME query Spooler `

The remote form requires administrative authorization and compatible Windows networking and firewall policy. Use the service name, which may differ from its display name.

**Be careful:**
stopping a dependency or security service can interrupt Windows, applications or the remote connection itself.

## With Screensie

Command Center lists services with current state and startup type. Authorized controls provide Start, Stop, Restart, Enable and Disable choices, with unavailable actions disabled and changes confirmed. A dedicated Restart Print Spooler action handles a common repair in one step.

## Common questions

**How do I restart a remote Windows service with Screensie?**

Open the PC’s Command Center, choose Services, inspect the intended service and its dependencies, then confirm Restart. Check the resulting service status and whether the affected application works.

**Should I use the display name or the service name in commands?**

Use the exact service name required by the Windows command. A friendly display name can differ from that name; inspect the service details before issuing a start or stop command.

## Manage services without screen takeover

Use a readable live list instead of asking the customer to open Services.
