# Inspect and end a process remotely.

Updated
October 5, 2026

To inspect a remote Windows process with Screensie, open the PC’s Command Center and choose Processes. Check the PID, resource use and owner before confirming End. In an authorized command session, tasklist lists processes and taskkill /PID targets a specific process.

## Built-in Windows commands

` tasklisttasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq notepad.exe"taskkill /PID 1234 /Ttaskkill /PID 1234 /T /F `

Use ` /F ` only when normal termination fails. For remote command-line management, Windows permissions and remote-management policy must already be configured.

## With Screensie

Command Center’s Processes page returns a clean list with PID, running status, CPU time and memory. The End action is confirmed and then verified on the destination, without displaying Task Manager on the remote screen.

## Common questions

**How do I inspect processes on a remote Windows PC?**

Open the PC’s Screensie Command Center and choose Processes, or run tasklist in an authorized command session. Identify the process by PID and other available details before taking action.

**When should I force a process to end?**

Try normal termination first. Forced termination with taskkill /F can discard unsaved work; use it only for the confirmed target when normal termination fails.
