## How do I see Devices on Your Network?




Set the trusted network profile to Private, enable Network discovery, then open File Explorer \> Network.




View discoverable computers and devices on a trusted local network.

Follow the steps in order and stop if the screen or target does not match what is described. Use administrator access only when the task requires it.




**Before you begin**


Save open work. Confirm that you are working on the intended computer and that you are authorized to make the change.




## Confirm the network is trusted




Do not enable discovery on a hotel, airport, café, or other public network.




## Use a Private profile




Open Settings \> Network & internet, select the active connection and set Network profile type to Private only for a trusted home or work network.




## Enable discovery




Open Advanced network settings \> Advanced sharing settings. Under Private networks, turn on Network discovery.




## Open Network




Press Windows + E and select Network.




## Allow time for discovery




Devices must be awake, connected to the same reachable network, and configured to advertise services. Not every device will appear automatically.
